Workplace training and journeyman's exams
Vocational studies are divided into studies at school workplace training and. The purpose of on the workplace training is to promote students’ knowledge, skills and understanding of the study programme’s components. Upon completion of on the job training, the student should have acquired the skills required to pass the journeyman's examination.
The journeyman exams are held at least once a year in each industry, if there are enough participants.
Iðan Education Centre supervises the drawing up of apprenticeship contracts and holds journeyman’s examinations for the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture in the following trades: building and construction trades, food and culinary trades, metal- and mechanical trades, printing and media trades, cosmetics trades, automotive trades and design and handicrafts.
Iðan also provides assessments of foreign qualifications and allocations from the workplace training fund.
